A Beloved’s Wait

21 Jun

Lonely and forlorn standing beneath a tree,

With rustling leaves and flowers falling free.

A dull throb at the deepest recess of the heart,

Could it be called craving?

The painful longing of a lover’s heart?

The dawning sun still red in all its splendor,

Reminding her of the mirthful times spent together.

The flowers blooming and blushing pink,

And the bees humming sweet romantic melodies,

Making the wait acutely lonelier.

Dreaming dreams of white creamy clouds

And huge green peaks, with lush valleys

And hoping the dreams come true when the wait ends.

The presence of the beloved, ending the wait, and

Breaking the most pleasant and painful of reveries,

Ah, reality being sweetest than all the hopes and dreams.

The beloved smiling the most serene smile,

Joy and tranquility, brimming over her heart,

And feeling like destiny’s favorite child.

Got any “gifts/presents” from ur hubby?

What so special happened that changed this developer into a romantic poet?

Lovely!! .. i like the blend of the descriptive ‘scene’ with the state of mind.. it reminds me of the poems of a popular blogger from mouthshut who always uses this descriptive style to express his state of mind.. whatever surge of inspiration you had though, over the weekend to write this beautiful piece we won’t know :)..

    @ Yuv,
I am always a romantic at heart, though only at rare times it manifests. So, its not like it is sudden 🙂 Thanks so much 🙂

    @ RamPrakash,
Love does not need gifts or presents to manifest.

    @ Ram,
Thanks so much. As always I enjoy your comments which in itself is most often poetry 🙂

And nothing happened over the weekend 🙂
